10 YEARS SAFETY AWARD OF EXCELLENCE - ACCIDENT FREE

10 years Safety Award of Excellence – Accident Free, presented to the MD/CEO Okama Infinity Nigeria Limited by

Shell Petroleum Development Company Nigeria (SPDC) Forcados Terminal  in 2010.

    SAFETY PRACTICES

    Oil & Gas Best Practices

It’s an understatement to say in the past few years the Oil and Gas Industry– both “upstream” in exploration and drilling operations, and “downstream” in refining processes – has gone through formidable safety challenges and traumatic safety-related incidents. Today, major oil and gas multinationals are among the most transparent of any enterprises in sharing safety and health lessons learned and best practices, as the industry strives to achieve and maintain the public trust necessary to pursue sources of energy.

    Our Safety Commitment

    • Safety Performance
    • Emergency Preparedness
    • Operating Safely
    • Off-Shore / On-Shore Prevention and Response.
    • Security
    • Occupational Health and Industrial Hygiene.

Fire Protection Tips for Our Oil and Gas Worksites

    •  Assess initial fire safety workplace preparedness  -  Evaluate any particular areas and workers at higher risk for flash fires or explosions.  We look for areas where fire protection equipment is either old or malfunctioning and replace them with ones that are in good, working condition.
    •  Keep equipment for emergency response onsite -   Fire extinguishers need to be readily available for workers to use in an emergency and isolate the fire before it spreads to other parts of the work-site.
    •   Install alert systems employees to fire risk - We encourage the  implementation of emergency alarm and mass notification systems that will alert employees to dangers.
    •  Measure dangerous gases with detection equipment -  With the risk of fires and explosions, there may be hazardous gases in the air that could endanger worker health and safety. We educate workers on what is considered an acceptable level of these gases to allow them to be proactive in knowing when to stop work when it becomes unsafe.
    •  Train workers to use equipment for fire protection -  We plan fire drills to remind employees about safety procedures and educate them on how to properly evacuate the workplace. Posting evacuation directions and ways to exit the building near work stations have helped with protecting workers from fire-related injuries and fatalities.

Fire Extinguisher APPLICATION - Fire Safety

The use of a fire extinguisher in the hands of a trained adult can be a life and property saving tool. However, a majority of adults have not had fire extinguisher training and may not know how and when to use them.

F-500 EA FIRE SAFETY : An Integral Part of Sustainability

F-500 EA: A SUSTAINABLE PRODUCT IN ANY BUILDING COSTRUCTION

A long history of fire safety advances  has been shown to save lives, protect property and minimize business  interruption losses; however, in todays corporate culture, risk  improvement efforts may be cast aside in favor of sustainability  efforts.

current research demonstrates that,  if a building is not properly designed and constructed to withstand  potentially catastrophic events due to risk factors posed by fires,  floods, earthquakes or hurricanes, such disasters can nullify the  benefits gained from green construction. Efforts to improve  sustainability solely by increasing energy efficiency (without  consideration of risk) have the potential to increase the magnitude of  risk factors by a factor of three. Incorporating risk mitigation  measures - including construction methods and building materials that  can improve a buildings survivability as an integral part of reducing  lifecycle environmental impact - represents the next step in making  buildings durable, and thus sustainable.

F-500 Encapsulator Agent is not a foam, so it contains no fluorines, such as perfluorooctyl sulfonate (PFOS). F-500 EA is 100% biodegradable and is non-hazardous, containing no ingredients reportable under the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act (SARA) Title III, Section 313 or the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA). Shelf life is 15 years and it can be discarded as a non-hazardous waste under RCRA CFR261.

F-500 EA: A SUSTAINABLE FIRE PROTECTION

There is a growing demand for building green buildings that are perceived to have benefits environmentally through promoting recycling, energy efficiency and efficient use of resources. The green movement has also led to innovative technologies that are focused on reducing cost. However, the fire safety industry has concerns with the use of certain technologies that create passages for smoke and fire to spread such as passive ventilation or materials that can burn severely and release large amount of toxins.

Modern sustainable buildings provide for different end-user needs, bringing new technologies and construction materials. These new variables significantly impact the performance of buildings in fire. Yet, fire resilience, a crucial element of buildings sustainability, is often forgotten as a parameter to consider. In order to successfully green our buildings, we must build a bridge between sustainability and fire resilience and go beyond the minimum legal requirements.

F-500 EA is manufactured to safe lives property and environment that is sustainable and safe. The fire tetrahedron explains the four elements required to make a fire: heat, oxygen, fuel and free radicals.  Eliminating any one of these elements will extinguish a fire.  F-500 EA removes three elements.  F-500 EA removes the heat.  Without the heat, there is no fire.  F-500 EA encapsulates the fuel, leaving nothing to burn.  Finally, F-500 EA also interrupts the free radical chain reaction.  Free radicals are unburned gases released during combustion that intensify the fire.  F-500 EA prevents this chain reaction from occurring.

    • Reduce the surface tension of the water
    • Rapidly absorb the heat
    • Encapsulate the fuel
    • Interrupt the free radical chain reaction
    • Chemical composition is cancer free

    F-500 EA: NFPA 18A SECTION 7.7

NFPA 18A Section 7.7 Fuel Neutralization Test for Encapsulator Agents

F-500 EA fully encapsulate and neutralize a gallon of fuel to be non-ignitable and non-hazardous. This is the NFPA 18A Section 7.7 test that must be passed for an agent to be listed as an Encapsulator Agent.

This standard provides the minimum requirements for water additives used for the control and/or suppression of Class A and B fires & mitigation of flammable vapors.

    BEST PRACTICE

    Achieving Operational Excellence

Safety is and will continue to be a priority in the petroleum sector. The industry's increasingly rigorous and complex environmental and safety regulations are putting plenty of pressure on operators to upgrade performance quickly. Yet by helping to identify hazardous conditions, the right control and software solutions can reduce threats to people and the environment. Anticipating quickly shifting conditions and minimizing the number of workers in the most hazardous locations, operators can take dramatic steps to reduce the human cost of accidents. Technology has proven in recent years to show short-term improvements, but the bottom line remains that it can lead to even longer-term operational excellence if implemented carefully and accurately.

    ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT
